Apple MacBook, the best notebook

Apple has raised the bar for performance and design in its new 4.5-pound MacBook. We were bowled over by its seamless, edge-to-edge LED backlit display and gigantic multi-touch track pad, which doubles as a mouse button and supports some new multi-touch gestures. And because the body is carved out of one piece of aluminum, the MacBook is more durable than previous generations.

What really impresses us is the power and endurance offered by this thin-and-light work of art. Nvidia’s new GeForce 9400M graphics runs circles around Intel’s integrated graphics, which means users can enjoy better graphics performance while working in Photoshop, playing games, or editing video. And on our tests we saw nearly five hours of battery life. Throw in Apple’s usual suite of stellar software, and you have a value-packed Mac that will win over Mac upgraders and Windows switchers.
